You can make beautiful glass beads, the kind you would pay dearly for at the bead shop. Lampworking is a type of glasswork that uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of clear and colored glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. Use your beads to create unique jewelry. Workshop will cover safety, setup and use of equipment and tools, how to use glass rods, shaping and decorating. Expand your skills to create other lampworked objects in the class that follows and save $10.
Materials: bring a bag lunch. All the basic equipment you will need to start making glass beads and continue practicing at home are included in the cost of this class. You will take home your own portable torch, tools, protective eyewear and colored glass rods to keep and enjoy. -

Real acting experience will compliment traditional acting games and role playing, leading to a real staged production on the last day. Try something new or continue to explore theater in a low pressure environment; you'll have a blast! This is one of our “Saturday Morning Arts for Kids” opportunities. *If you seek more intensive acting experience, try CCArt's new Children's Theater program immediately following SMArts.
